things celebrated

a post only 3 days later? what has gotten into me? I'll tell you what! overwhelming joy and celebration!

guess who is a SeaWorld Educator? that's right, ME! praise the Lord for patience, perseverance, hope, and of course, celebrations. I will be a rotating educator, spending an hour each at SeaWorld Orlando's major animal exhibits, doing small presentations and answering guest questions. It is a summer job, and more excitingly, a foot in the door. At the end of the summer, an evaluation and *crossed fingers* openings will possibly provide a more long-term career opportunity. regardless of the august outcome, prayers and hopes have been answered, and I will spend a wonderful summer doing my dream job. zoological education for SEAWORLD! through the trials of moving out here has come a glorious reward. may 27th is my orientation, and training starts on the 30th. potentially (pending my exam) I would begin working on June 6th!

I would also like to take time to celebrate my husband. for many reasons. as we approach our 5 monthiversary, and as I approach becoming settled in a new home with new friends, the stresses of marriage have seemed to dissolve. turns out, moving cross country on little notice does crazy things to a personality via my stress levels. as I approach the new normal, I have time and open eyes to remember and celebrate the love I have for Rhett. as difficult as it can be, I am now realizing how rewarding it can be to put the joy of celebrating our forever love before the frustrations of the moment. you would think it would be easy, but the moment always seems to win, even if it is a worse deal. I would also like to celebrate his success as a manager. I love getting to share time with him when he's at work, and watch him with his employees. we also had a really good time bowling with them, and they are coming over this week to watch Harry Potter! how cool. he has done such a good job. he also celebrates me. he has taught me so much about celebrating.

lastly, but certainly mostly, I would like to celebrate the Lord. it has been such a blessing to find a church where we want to be, and friends who uplift us and pray for us. we knew it would be tough to leave friends like that in Texas, and have been blessed to find some here. after a tough run with our college station church, and only a short time in Houston to not be able to have a real church home, it was good to be excited about Sunday mornings again. it is such a celebration to be able to share the love of the Lord with other people!

so celebrate something today. it doesn't matter what it is. just celebrate it, like it's the best thing in the whole world. it will help you appreciate the small things, and love the moment.
